FACTS

Jockey K Hercock admitted a breach of Rule 638(3)(g)(i) in that she struck her mount SCRIPT with a whip 6 times prior to the hundred metre mark. The film of the incident confirmed that she struck her mount one strike over the Guidelines.

DECISION

As the charge was admitted, it was deemed proved.

SUBMISSIONS FOR PENALTY

This was Jockey K Hercock’s 4th breach of the Rule. The last was 15.10.2022 at Hawkes Bay. This was confirmed by Miss Hercock and being aware of the Guidelines, she asked for a deferment of suspension until after racing on Saturday April 15.

REASONS FOR PENALTY

The deferment was agreed to and as per the Guidelines, a penalty of two days suspension was imposed.

CONCLUSION

Miss Hercock was suspended from race riding after the completion of racing on Saturday April 15 and ending after the completion of racing on Thursday April 20. A fine of $500 was also imposed.
