EVIDENCE:

Following the running of Race 1, the “GRAHAM’S PAINTERS 1400”, Mr Oatham presented an Information charging Mr Hashizume with careless riding, in breach of Rule 638(1)(d), in that he allowed his mount JUSTICE FOR ALL to shift inwards when passing the 400 metre mark when insufficiently clearing THE ESPY, ridden by Mr G Rooke, which had to be checked.

Mr Hashizume admitted the breach of the Rule.

The race films as illustrated by Mr Goodwin, showed that JUSTICE FOR ALL, when in 4th place at the 400 metre mark and insufficiently clear of THE ESPY (Mr G Rooke), moved abruptly outwards to cause a severe check to that horse as Mr Rooke had to take evasive action and his mount lost any chance and finished last.  JUSTICE FOR ALL finished 5th in the 7 horse field.

DECISION:

As the charge was admitted, it was deemed proved.

SUBMISSIONS FOR PENALTY:

Mr Oatham advised that the degree of carelessness was in the mid-low range category.  He said Mr Hashizume has an excellent record, with no careless riding breaches over 440 rides in the last 12 months.

Mr Hashizume advised that he has riding commitments over the next 8 days (until 14 December 2025).

REASONS FOR PENALTY:

From a starting point of 6 days’ suspension, he is allowed a discount because of his good record.

CONCLUSION:

Mr Hashizume’s Licence to ride is suspended for 5 National Riding Days, to commence at the conclusion of racing on 14 December 2025 and to end at the conclusion of racing on 24 December 2025.
