EVIDENCE:

Following the running of Race 6 Stipendiary Steward, Mr M Davidson presented an Information alleging a breach of rule 638(3)(e) by Jockey, Bridget Grylls which she admitted.

Mr Davidson showed the video and identified Miss Grylls (WANNABE N PARIS) racing one off the rail and contesting the lead. He counted as Ms Grylls struck her mount six times.

Miss Grylls agreed with Mr Davidson’s count and confirmed she was conversant with the Whip Rules.

REASON FOR DECISION:

As Miss Grylls admitted the breach it was found proved.

SUBMISSION FOR PENALTY:

Mr Davidson stated Miss Grylls was fined $150 at Tauranga on the 20th of this month for her first breach of the Rule.

Mr Davidson alluded to the Guidelines for a second offence which provides a $500 fine or 50% of the Jockey’s share of stakes whichever is the greatest. Mr Davidson said Miss Grylls share of stakes for this race was approximately $370.

CONCLUSIONS:

Miss Grylls is fined $500.
