Penalty: Apprentice Jockey, Jeetesh Mudhoo fined $500
EVIDENCE
Apprentice Jockey, Mr J Mudhoo along with Ms K Clapperton viewed the film and concurred with Stipendiary Stewards’ interpretation that MR Mudhoo struck his mount 6 times before the 100 metre mark. He had little to add except to say he was urging his mount forward at the time looking for a run.
DECISION
As the breach was admitted it was found proved.
SUBMISSIONS ON PENALTY
Stipendiary Steward informed the Adjudicative Committee that this was Mr Mudhoo’s third breach of this Rule, The first a warning on 9 March, the second on 12 May when he was fined $250. He asked for a penalty to be imposed as per the Guidelines.
REASONS FOR PENALTY.
The film clearly showed an excess number of strikes with the whip.
Conclusion.
Apprentice Jockey, Mr Jeetesh Mudhoo was fined $500.
