Auckland TC 26 November 2021 – R5 – FAITH IN MANCHESTER

SUMMARY OF FACTS:

Following the running of the ALABAR-15K 2YO MOBILE TROT an Information Instigating a Protest lodged by Stipendiary Steward Miss P Kinsey against the 3rd placing of FAITH IN MANHATTEN driven by Mr Tony Cameron on the grounds of breaking and galloping in excess of 150 metres during the race.

Mr Cameron endorsed the Information advising that he did not contest the Protest.

EVIDENCE:

Miss Kinsey demonstrated the incident using the available race films and showed where FAITH IN MANCHESTER broke in the early stages of the race and galloped for at least 160 metres.

Miss Kinsey said that the horse had breached the Rule and should be disqualified from the race.

REASON FOR DECISION:

The film replays showed FAITH IN MANCHESTER breaking shortly after the start and galloping for more than 160 metres

CONCLUSIONS:

The race films show the incident clearly and show FAITH IN MANCHESTER breaking soon after the start and galloping in excess of 150 metres.

The Protest is therefore upheld and FAITH IN MANCHESTER is disqualified from 3rd placing and the race.

The amended placings are now:

First       8  ALDEBARAN KEEPA
Second  6  EMMA JOY
Third      4  ESCAPE THE PACE
Fourth    1  TRUE STORY
Fifth       3  SPECIAL EFFECTS

It was ordered that dividends and stakes be paid in accordance with the amended placings.
