EVIDENCE:

Following the running of Race 4, Stipendiary Steward Mr Shane Renault presented an Information alleging a breach of Rule 869(4)(6)(b)(c) by Junior Driver Mia Holbrough.

The hearing of the Information was adjourned sine die and heard this day, 8 March 2026 at the Reefton Racecourse.

Miss Holbrough stated she was conversant with the Rule and the Charge and confirmed she admitted the breach.

Miss Holbrough was assisted at the hearing by Open Driver Miss Sheree Tomlinson.

Mr Renault played the race video approaching the 1250m. Mr Renault pointed to Miss Holbrough (FOLIEJON STAR) racing in the 1×1 position, shifting her horse out, dictating PLAYING WITH STARS (J Dunn) and forcing it 4 wide on the track. Mr Renault said Mr Dunn was forced to race wide for some distance and was unable to get closer than 3 wide for the remainder of the race.

Miss Holbrough and Miss Tomlinson chose not to make comments.

DECISION:

The Respondent having admitted the breach, it was deemed to be proved.

SUBMISSIONS FOR PENALTY:

Mr Renault said Miss Holbrough has a clear record under the Rule. Mr Renault said the usual fine for a breach of this Rule is recommended by Stewards.

Miss Holbrough and Miss Tomlinson made no submissions on Penalty.

REASONS FOR PENALTY:

The Penalty Guidelines provides a $200 fine for a first breach of the Rule and there are no factors here for the Adjudicative Committee to depart from the Guidelines on this occasion.

CONCLUSION:

Junior Driver Mia Holbrough is fined $200.
