FACTS
Ms Hudson admitted a breach of careless riding, the carelessness being that she permitted her mount “MARGHERITA VELOCE” to shift inwards when not sufficiently clear of “POMALO”, which was checked near the 1050m.
Ms Hudson said that she understood the Rule, charge and confirmed that she admitted the breach.
Mr Oatham showed film replays and identified where “MARGHERITA VELOCE” shifted in across the line of “POMALO”, when only just over one length clear.
As a consequence, “POMALO” was checked. Mr Oatham said that in his opinion, it was only minor interference.
Ms Hudson agreed.
DECISION
As the charge was admitted, it was found proved.
PENALTY SUBMISSIONS
Ms Hudson’s record showed two breaches of the Rule in the past 12 months:
24 July 2022 – 6 Days Suspension
30 April 2022 – 5 Days Suspension
Mr Goodwin placed the carelessness in the low-range.
Ms Hudson said that she would like a deferment until after 3 November.
REASONS FOR PENALTY
The Adjudicative Committee was satisfied that it was a minor case of careless riding and adopted a starting point of 5-days suspension.
Taking into account the record and admitted breach, this was reduced to 4-days suspension.
CONCLUSION
Ms M Hudson’s Jockey’s Licence was suspended from end of racing on 3 November 2022, until the conclusion of racing on 9 November 2022.
