Mr Davidson alleged that Mr Mudhoo allowed his mount OUR PRINCESS BOOT in Race 6, to shift ground outwards when not clear, checking a trailing runner SO GRACEFUL (Mr Moseley) passing the 300 metres.
Miss Haley demonstrated on the videos that Mr Mudhoo was racing 3-wide near the front of the field, when he angled out 4-wide. Mr Mudhoo was not his length and another clear. Mr Davidson said there was a small contribution from Mr Campbell (NIPPY THE HIPPY), whose mount had angled in a little.
Mr Mudhoo said he had shifted out and agreed it was clear on the video. He said he was coming out looking for a run and was not aware that Mr Moseley was there. He said Mr Moseley had yelled. Mr Mudhoo added that OUR PRINCESS BOOT was an awkward horse to ride.

As Mr Mudhoo has admitted, the breach it is found to be proved.
Submissions as to Penalty
Mr Davidson produced the Respondent’s record. This was Mr Mudhoo’s fourth breach of the Careless Riding Rule in the past 12 months. Mr Mudhoo had 2 breaches towards the end of 2022 and 2 breaches on the one day at Riccarton in May. Mr Davidson described the breach as at the low end of the scale. Mr Mudhoo had drifted wider on the track and Mr Campbell’s contribution was minor.
Mr Mudhoo stated he wished the suspension to commence immediately.
Reasons for Penalty
Mr Mudhoo has shifted ground outwards when not clear of Mr Moseley. He is an experienced Rider who has made a misjudgement. This is his fourth breach of the Careless Riding Rule in the last 10 months. It is a low range breach and from a 5-day starting point, there is a one-day uplift for record and a one-day deduction for admission of the breach.
Conclusion
Mr Mudhoo is suspended from the end of racing today, up to and including 26 August. This is 5 days.
