Evidence:
Following the running of Race 4, Stipendiary Steward Mr Paul Williams presented an Information alleging a breach of Rule 869(7A)(a) by Junior Driver Mr Sam Thornley.
The Stewards requested Mr Thornley be excused from attending the hearing because he was driving in every race, at 25-minute intervals, and also had horses to gear up. This was granted by the Adjudicative Committee.
Mr Williams played the replay of the race showing Mr Thornley shifting his horse inwards and contacting the final marker leading into the straight. He said Mr Thornley was warned on the 24th of June 2022 for doing the same.
Decision:
Mr Thornley has admitted the breach and it is deemed proved.
Penalty Submissions:
Mr Williams indicated a $100 fine as appropriate as per the Guidelines.
