SUMMER WARRIOR (N Downs) – Trainer Mr D Wiles advised Stewards, after undergoing a post-race endoscopic examination which revealed the gelding to have mucopus in the trachea, SUMMER WARRIOR, has been placed on five days’ worth of antibiotics. D Wiles further advised, SUMMER WARRIOR will participate in a gallop on Tuesday 6 July, and will then undergo another endoscopic examination to determine if the mucopus has cleared. If results show the trachea clear of any mucopus, D Wiles may look to nominate the gelding for Te Aroha on Sunday 11 July.
