FACTS:
Following Race 1, Information A16165 was filed with the Adjudicative Committee.
It was alleged that Ms Northcott the Driver of “SUNSET RED”, used her whip free of the rein on one occasion in the run home.
Ms Northcott said that she understood the Rule, charge and confirmed that she admitted the breach.
Film replays clearly showed the one strike free of the rein with approximately 70m to run.
DECISION:
As the charge was admitted, it was deemed proved.
PENALTY SUBMISSIONS:
Mr Mulcay said that Ms Northcott had had one whip warning on 26 June 2022.
He said that the Penalty Guide starting point was a fine of $200.
Ms Northcott did not have anything to say.
REASONS FOR PENALTY
As there was not any reason to depart from the starting point of a $200 fine, this figure was considered appropriate.
CONCLUSION
Ms Northcott was fined $200.
