Invercargill HRC 24 November 2021 – R2 – PYRAMID MYSTIC

EVIDENCE:
At the conclusion of Race 2, The Race Six Horses and Greyhound Trot 2200m, Information A16009 was lodged by Stipendiary Steward, Mr V Munro, instigating a protest into the third placed horse by the judge, PYRAMID MYSTIC (B Williamson) who broke in excess of 50 metres in the final 200 metres. Mr P Williamson (TRAINER) and representing the Connections of PYRAMID MYSTIC did not contest the protest and did not wish to be present at the hearing.

3^rd  Pyramid Mystic – P Williamson
4^th  Son of Majestic – B McLellan

SUBMISISONS FOR DECISION:
Mr Munro asked Stipendiary Steward, Miss Haley to demonstrate on the video footage PYRAMID MYSTIC breaking for at least 60 metres in the final 200 metres. Miss Haley identified PYRAMID MYSTIC and illustrated by using the track markers the approximate distance PYRAMID MYSTIC broke for.

REASON FOR DECISION:
On reviewing the race films of the concluding stages, it is apparent that PYRAMID MYSTIC broke free of interference for about 60 metres in the final 200 metres.

CONCLUSION:
The protest is upheld and PYRAMID MYSTIC is disqualified from third placing.
