SUMMARY OF FACTS:

Ms L Satherley the Rider of ALHAMBRA LAD (2nd) admitted a breach of Rule 638(3)(g)(ii) in that she used her whip in 2 consecutive strides in the home straight.

Ms Satherley signed the Information that she did not wish to be present at the hearing.

She also signed off admitting the breach.

The film replays were shown with Mr Coppins identifying Ms Satherley striking her mount in consecutive strides (once) just short of reaching the winning post.

DECISION:

As the charge was admitted it was found proved.

PENALTY SUBMISSIONS:

Mr Jones produced Ms Satherley’s record which read as follows:

11.12.21         –           5 Days

11.12.21         –           7 Days

03.11.21         –           5 Days + $150 (Consecutive Strides)

25.09.21         –           5 Days + $400

Mr Jones referred to the Penalty Guide.

REASONS FOR PENALTY:

Ms Satherley’s record and the Penalty Guide were taken into account when fixing penalty.  It was determined that a suspension of 7 days and 50% of her share of the stake won was a condign penalty.

CONCLUSION:

Ms Satherley’s Jockey’s Licence was suspended from close of racing on 30 January up to and including 11 February 2022 (7 days) and a $185 fine imposed.
