Request for a Ruling in relation to Rule 534(2)(b)
Following the running of Race 5, Mr Chris McNab on behalf of Trainer Mr Tony Pike, sought a Ruling in relation to Rule 534(2)(b). Mr Pike had a runner in the 8th Race, DONTTELLTIMMY. Mr McNab requested permission to late scratch DONTTELLTIMMY on the grounds that the horse would not handle the very Heavy track conditions, which he said had worsened during the day.
Stipendiary Steward Adrian Dooley did not support the request. He confirmed that there had been no change in the declared track conditions (Heavy 10) since the time of scratchings at 7.30am.
Ruling
The circumstances did not warrant scratching after the scratching time of 7.30am this morning, as there had been no change in the declared track conditions of a Heavy 10.
