EVIDENCE:

Mr Davidson alleged that Mr Murray used his whip in 2 consecutive strides on his mount (ROYAL KHAN) over the concluding stages.

Miss Haley demonstrated on the videos that the Respondent struck his mount with 2 consecutive strikes just before the winning post.

Mr Murray said it was out of frustration. He should have finished 4th not 5th, as he had received a check in the straight.

DECSION

As Mr Murray admitted the breach is was found proved.

SUBMISSIONS ON PENALTY:

Mr Davidson produced Mr Murray’s record which showed only a previous warning at Gore in September.

CONCLUSION:

Mr Murray is fined the sum of $150 in accordance with the NZTR whip guidelines.
